Open Position: Academic Assistant in Berlin

CIFE is looking for an ACADEMIC ASSISTANT in its Berlin office for its Joint Masters in Global Economic Governance and Public Affairs (GEGPA), in EU Trade and Climate Diplomacy (EUDIPLO) and in European Cultural Governance (EUCULTURE) organised with the School of Government of the Luiss Guido Carli University.

CIFE (Centre international de formation européenne) is a private institution of higher education and research founded in 1954 unique in its interdisciplinary perspective and its itinerant programmes which promote the principle of "Learning and Living Europe". It is one of the 7 University Institutions of Excellence selected by the European Union as part of the Jean Monnet activities of the Erasmus+ programme.

This is a two-year fixed-term full-time position. It is intended to make the position permanent at a later date.

Missions

  • be the link and support between teachers and students on academic matters,
  • teaching (e.g. giving tutoring and workshops, providing academic advice to students),
  • assist teachers (e.g. organisational support, research and thesis follow-up, preparation of bibliographies),
  • carry out Admissions Information Sessions and student selection interviews online,
  • work closely with the Student Services and support administrative processes,
  • contribute to the organisation of general studies in the field of governance of sustainable development, the ecological and digital transitions (coordination with other team members),
  • participate in the organisation and promotion of Joint Masters conferences and colloquia,
  • proofreading and production of academic research and publications (particularly in the fields of analysis and measure of governance, institutional development, sustainability….)

Profile

  • Master degree or Ph.D;
  • a strong interest in the governance of sustainable development, the ecological and digital transitions;
  • preference will be given to candidates with experience in academic research;
  • very good English language skills, oral and writing;
  • strong organisational skills and customer-oriented approach;
  • ability to work in a team, reliability and flexibility;
  • structured, independent and problem-solving working methods;
  • proven knowledge of statistics, data management and ability to learn data programming would be a plus;
  • good command of German (minimum level B2).
