Promoting European Cultural Assets and Heritage

Our Joint Master in European Cultural Governance (EUCULTURE) aims to develop students' ability to shape cultural policy through evidence-based learning in key areas of the programme: Cultural Heritage and Creative Arts, Digital Transformation with AI, Sustainable Development.
Students will acquire the skills to design and manage social, economic and environmental policies of cultural institutions in an international context.

Students will experience Europe’s rich and diverse cultural landscape in four historical UNESCO cities: Rome, Berlin and Nice, with a study trip to Paris. They will follow courses from policymakers representing major cultural institutions and exchange with visionary artists, cultural heritage managers and curators of foundations and museums.

Graduates receive the following certifications: the Joint Master in European Cultural Governance by CIFE and Luiss; and CIFE's degree qualification "Policy Officer in European and International Organisations" (level 7 EQF), recognised by the French state.

Study Trip to Paris: Visiting Major Cultural Institutions

One of the best ways to learn about cultural institutions and European and international organisations is to visit them. That is why a study trip to Paris is an essential part of the programme. During the study trip, the students will  meet with representatives of cultural institutions who explain the mission of their institution and aspects of their work. These visits enable the students to gain an insight into the working environment of major cultural institutions, to make useful contacts and to learn about recruitment procedures.

Among recent visits:
Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral: Look behind the scenes of the reconstruction project
Palais de Chaillot and the Trocadéro area: Between cultural heritage and creative process
Musée du Quai Branly: The work of a curator in a 21st-century museum

Musée national de l'histoire de l'immigration: Reinventing a historic museum collection
UNESCO: Discovering the UNESCO headquarters and its mission

Laboratories and Applied Research Projects

Throughout the three terms, students actively take part in a variety of field trips to cultural sites and institutions in and around Rome, Berlin and Nice. They exchange with institutional representatives and understand the challenges cultural institutions face regarding governance, sustainability and digitalisation. Through applied projects, they get involved in the development of solutions to promote cultural assets

Among recent visits:
ROME

Ninfa Gardens: Managing a multi-dimensional cultural heritage site
Historical Roman Palaces: Preserving historical and listed houses: marketing plans and maintenance
Civita di Bagnoregio: Local development and international city branding
Fondazione Bulgari: Private funding for cultural heritage preservation

BERLIN
