Congratulations to the 2025 Cohort of the Executive Master in EU Studies!

Two years came to a close after a lot of hard work, making precious new friendships and eight big weekends spent together in Rome, Berlin, Nice, Vienna, Budapest, Brussels and Barcelona: Congratulations to the 2025 Cohort of the Executive Master in EU Studies, who concluded their studies with a workshop and a festive dinner on the beach in Nice! 

On this occasion, we also celebrated 20 years of online teaching at CIFE and the 15th anniversary of the Executive Master in EU Studies!
 
The students defended their Master theses and presented their final papers to the jury, the panel of distinguished experts Ralf M Kanitz, Tamás Szigetvári, Thomas Traguth and Mattias Wendel.
 
Their presentations tackled highly topical subjects such as:

  • The Interplay Between the GDPR and the AI Act: Legal Challenges and Regulatory Alignment 
  • Emerging Societal Resilience in Georgia: Strengthening Civil Protection in Response to Intensified Natural Disasters

  • The Artificial Intelligence Act: EU Regulatory Competitiveness, Digital Sovereignty and Human Rights?
  • Fiscal Sustainability of the Western Balkans in the Context of EU Integration: A Comparative Analysis with Selected EU Member States
  • The Doctrinal Tension of Non-Refoulement and Public Security: Exclusion and Expulsion in EU Refugee Law for Individuals Affiliated with Terrorist Organisations

On Saturday evening, students, professors and CIFE staff celebrated together at the beach. Matthias Waechter, Director General of CIFE, and Aline Palige, Camille Raffin and Thierri Iung of the Executive Master team warmly congratulated the students. It was a lovely evening and a special occasion to look back on a two-year-long academic journey.
