15:00-18:00 h
CONFERENCE “10 years of EU Accession, Quo Vadis?”  
  By 03 October 2015 Turkey is fulfilling its 10th year as official EU candidate. However, there is little debate from the EU side about the future perspectives of a Turkish membership, and currently other urgent topics are dominating the EU agenda, varying from the Greek economic crisis to Brexit, the refugee crisis to the Ukraine.On the other side, Turkey’s perspectives are also characterised by a political and economic crisis. 
  The debate will be followed by a Q&A session.
  Speakers: Senem Aydin DUZGIT, Professor at Bilgi University, Uluc OZULKER, Vice-President of the Turkey Europe Foundation-and Former Ambassador to the EU, Emre GUR, CIFE Country Representative

OPENING DINNER MEETING WITH ALUMNI (Mama’s Shelter Istanbul Restaurant)   
 

The first of many occasions to meet and talk during this weekend: The festive opening of CIFE’s Master’s programme in Istanbul and welcoming dinner for the first arrivals of Alumni. The dinner takes place at Mama’s Shelter Istanbul restaurant, representative of CIFE’s international culture with its mix of French-Turkish kitchen in a young spirit. 

 

17 October

12:00-13:30 h

 MINI CLASS-REUNIONS

 
  To give you the opportunity to meet in smaller groups, with your former classmates or other CIFE graduates, the day starts with mini class-reunions. Bilgi University Santral Campus offers a variety of places for mini-reunions, such as cafés, restaurants and chill out areas all around the campus. The Energy Museum room will also be reserved for us during the whole day.

 

 


13:30-16:00 h

CONFERENCE “Refugee Crisis and the EU”  
 

One of the most urgent and important issues on the European agenda is the Refugee Crisis, and Turkey offers a good platform for this discussion, hosting more than 2 million Syrian refugees since the beginning of the war. 
The debate will be followed by a Q&A session.

 CIFE AGORA  
 

The forum to discuss and shape the future of the CIFE Alumni Network.
Participate actively by defining the next steps and goals: What are your expectations and suggestions for the Alumni Network? Which should be the next Alumni regional groups? Where should the next annual meeting take place? 

 


19:00- 22:00 h

 BOAT DINNER  
 

The only way to explore Istanbul while dining and enjoying the time with Alumni peers from all around the world.

TURKISH BREAKFAST BRUNCH  
 

You may have heard that breakfast is taken seriously in Turkey… A long and copious breakfast in the beautiful setting of Istanbul for the lucky ones who still have some time before making their way home.

11:30-15:00 h

ISTANBUL STREET FOOD TOUR  
 

For a limited number of 15 participants: Alumni network Coordinator Emre GÜR (tbc) will take you to some of Istanbul’s finest places for a Street Food Tour.
